Richard F. Verstegen
Richard F. Verstegen, attorney, Boardman & Clark, LLP, Madison Wisconsin is an experienced member of the School Law Practice Group and the Labor and Employment Group at the firm. He represents educational institutions (including public school districts and technical colleges) in a variety of education law matters. He counsels school clients in labor and employment, student rights, student discipline, meetings and records, special education, Title IX, privacy and technology issues, student safety, policy, governance, and many other issues. Rick regularly provides training on these issues, conducts compliance reviews, attends board meetings, drafts and negotiates contracts, prepares opinions, analyzes legislation and school board policies, and provides other legal services. Rick has also published many articles on education and employment law related topics. In addition, he has participated in seminars and presentations dealing with education, labor, and employment related topics. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and is the former president of the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association, and is admitted to practice before the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin. He earned his JD degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
