Dr. Rayshawn L. Eastman
Dr. Rayshawn L. Eastman currently serves as Assistant Dean of Student at Marshall University and is an unyielding educator committed to the holistic development of students. He serves students as a scholar-practitioner dedicated to applying student development and learning theories to practice. Dr. Eastman consistently works to create safe and inclusive environments where students are challenged to take ownership of their educational experience, while ensuring that they have the proper support systems to learn and develop.
Dr. Eastman’s research focuses on co-curricular learning, black male success, retention, and access to education. His most recent publication is The Second Read in T. Poetter and K. Waldrop’s Curriculum Windows: What Curriculum Theorists of the 1970s Can Teach Us about Schools and Society Today.
Dr. Eastman is a first-generation college student and received his Ph.D. from Miami University in Educational Leadership, his MS degree in College Student Personnel from Miami University, and his BS degree from the College of Mount St. Joseph in Liberal Arts.
