Best For: Higher education
In an effort to maximize the utilization of resources, many institutions of higher education have created innovative programs outside of the regular Fall and Spring semesters in order to better serve existing students or attract new students to their campuses. This includes summer bridge programs, pre-college summer camps, domestic and study abroad programs, short-term certificate programs and digital badges, service learning programs, conferencing programs, and others. Delivering such innovative intersession programming allows colleges and universities to attract more students, increase revenues and compete on a broader scope. Failing to take advantage of this space leaves a valuable resource untapped and your competitors moving further ahead in the field. But what are some of the challenges of intersession programming and how should you overcome them? What can you be doing on your campus to remain competitive in the market? How can you more effectively increase student participation? And how do you distinguish your intersession offerings from ones like it?
Please join Boris Vilic, dean of the College of Continuing Studies at Rider University, as he reviews various models of innovative intersession programs and their impact on the institutional bottom line. Real examples from various institutions of higher education will outline how some institutions utilize intersessions to generate additional revenue, create pathways to degree programs, or increase brand visibility.
