In recent years, the Department of Education has provided greater attention to this area, including providing various guidance documents on this area. Still, Title IX Coordinators must ensure that any investigation into a student sexual harassment complaint is both prompt and equitable, which requires Title IX Coordinators to have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of a civil rights investigation.
